Privacy Policy

Updated and effective September 9, 2026MJH Ventures LLC

This policy explains how Bible Lock handles information on iOS, Android, and our website, including app permissions, subscriptions, analytics, attribution, retention, and your privacy rights.

1. Scope and data controller

This Privacy Policy applies to Bible Lock on iOS and Android, biblelockapp.com, and related support services (collectively, the “Service”). MJH Ventures LLC is responsible for the processing described here and is the data controller where that term applies.

This policy does not govern Apple, Google, or other third-party services that operate under their own privacy policies.

What “private by design” means: you control app-blocking permissions, and those permissions do not give us the content of your messages, photos, passwords, or activity inside other apps. Bible Lock does collect the usage, technical, subscription, and marketing information described below. Some of that information can be associated with a device or user identifier; it is not all anonymous or aggregate data.

2. Information we collect and its sources

We collect information from you, your device, the app stores, and service providers. Depending on how you use the Service, the categories may include:

  • Identifiers: device, installation, advertising, vendor, attribution, or internal user identifiers.
  • Usage and onboarding data: feature interactions, verses read or favorited, Bible translation and experience preferences, session events, and subscription status. Depending on the app version and what you provide, onboarding responses may include your name, age, gender, denomination, selected goals and challenges, and quiz responses. These can be associated with a user identifier in our analytics services.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports, performance data, device model, operating-system version, app version, and technical errors.
  • Purchase and entitlement data: product purchased, trial or subscription status, renewal state, and transaction identifiers received from Apple, Google, or subscription providers. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Marketing and attribution data: campaign, ad, referral, installation, and conversion information, subject to your device settings and applicable law.
  • Support information: your email address and the content of communications you voluntarily send us.
  • Website technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, requested pages, and security or server logs when you visit our website.

3. App blocking and device permissions

On iPhone and iPad, Bible Lock uses Apple's Screen Time framework. On Android, Bible Lock uses Android system APIs and permissions needed to identify and block apps you select. The exact permissions may vary by device, operating-system version, and feature, and Android displays the requested permission before you grant it.

You choose which apps to block, when blocking is active, and which permissions to grant. Your app selections, schedules, and authorization settings are controlled on your device. You can change or revoke permissions in device settings, although doing so may prevent a feature from working.

We do not receive the content of your messages, photos, contacts, passwords, or content viewed inside other apps. We do not use app-blocking permissions to monitor you for unrelated purposes.

4. How and why we use information

  • Provide app blocking, Scripture, personalization, subscriptions, support, and other requested features.
  • Authenticate purchases, restore access, and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Measure performance, diagnose errors, secure the Service, and improve reliability.
  • Understand feature use and improve Bible Lock.
  • Measure referrals and marketing campaigns, subject to consent and device privacy settings where required.
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect users, MJH Ventures LLC, and others.

5. Legal bases for processing

Where the laws of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or similar jurisdictions apply, we process information under one or more of these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the Service and purchased features.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, analyze, and improve Bible Lock, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: for processing that requires consent, including certain analytics, advertising-attribution, or device permissions. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable law, tax, accounting, court, or regulatory requirements.

6. Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers for different purposes. The providers and information involved depend on your platform, app version, region, settings, and the features you use:

  • Mixpanel — product analytics: helps us understand feature use, onboarding, and subscription journeys, identify problems, and improve the app. It may receive usage events, onboarding responses, device information, and user identifiers. This can include information associated with an individual user or installation, as well as reports showing overall trends.
  • Superwall — subscription screens and offers: helps us display and evaluate paywalls and manage access to subscription features. It may process user identifiers, paywall interactions, subscription status, and campaign information.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management: where used, helps verify purchases, restore access, and manage subscription entitlements. It may process app user identifiers, transaction information, and subscription status.
  • Appstack — marketing measurement: where enabled, helps connect installations and events such as onboarding completion and paywall views to referral or advertising campaigns. It may process installation identifiers, campaign information, and conversion events, and share attribution information with Superwall.
  • TikTok — advertising and campaign measurement: where used, helps us reach potential users and evaluate advertising. Depending on the integration and your settings, it may receive device or attribution identifiers and installation or conversion events. Buying an ad and sending app events to an advertising partner are separate activities; any event sharing is subject to applicable consent requirements and device privacy settings.
  • Apple and Google: provide app distribution, purchase processing, and platform services. We receive purchase and entitlement information, but not your full payment-card details.
  • Hosting, diagnostics, email, security, and support providers: may process technical logs, errors, device information, or communications you send us to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service and respond to requests.

We require providers to handle data for authorized purposes and remain responsible for selecting and configuring integrations consistent with applicable platform rules. Older app versions may use different integrations. Discontinuing a provider does not by itself delete information previously collected; retention and deletion are addressed below.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, with your direction or consent, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets subject to appropriate protections.

7. Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising

We run limited paid-acquisition experiments to learn how to reach people who may benefit from Bible Lock. Advertising measurement helps us understand whether campaigns lead to installations or subscriptions. This is separate from analytics used to improve app features and reliability.

We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation. Some privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising broadly enough to include certain disclosures of device or attribution identifiers to advertising and measurement partners.

Where required, we obtain consent or provide an opt-out. You can limit tracking through iOS or Android privacy settings and may contact us to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of users under 16.

8. Data retention and deletion

On-device settings generally remain until you change them or delete the app. We retain other information only for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention depends on the type of information, why it was collected, sensitivity, legal requirements, and provider configuration.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, subject to backup cycles, fraud-prevention needs, and legal obligations. You may request deletion by emailing hello@biblelockapp.com with the subject “Privacy Deletion Request.” We may need to verify your request and may retain information where legally permitted or required.

9. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or a copy of personal information; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent; and to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. You may also have the right to appeal a decision and complain to a privacy regulator.

To exercise a right, email hello@biblelockapp.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and describe your request and jurisdiction. We may verify your identity or authority before responding. Authorized agents may submit requests where allowed by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

You can also revoke device permissions, limit tracking, or manage subscriptions in your iOS, Android, Apple App Store, or Google Play settings. Withdrawing a permission may disable the related feature.

10. Children's privacy

Bible Lock is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required parental consent. In jurisdictions with a higher minimum age for consent, that higher age applies. If you believe a child provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International data transfers

MJH Ventures LLC is based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, approved contractual clauses, or other lawful mechanisms.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Bible Lock, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required by law.
